How can one not be inspired by such a noble person? This is the story of
how a person single handedly undertaken a vow to help all beings
starting with virtually nothing except the spirit of spiritual
determination. From a single seed to a global force within a span of 50
years!

This is an unrelated question, but I have to ask it. In Buddhism, I thought the precepts indicate that people should not eat meat. I wonder what Buddhism says about animals. I have cats and dogs. What does Buddhism say about feeding animals?
Hi Becca
The precept is not to kill. This is different from eating meat of animals that have been killed by a third party. However, it will definitely be better not to eat meat because eating meat is indirectly causing animals to be killed.
Buddhists are encouraged to practise kindness to all living beings, anything that lives. It is certainly all right to feed animals.
