Everyday Is An Auspicious Day
Quotation from the Buddha: Majjhima Nikaya 131:
(Bhaddekaratta Sutta)
Auspicious Day
You shouldn't chase after the past
or pin your hope on the future.
What is past is left behind.
The future hasn't yet arrived.
What experience is PRESENT
you clearly see.....
Right there; Right there.
Not taken in, unshaken.
That's how you develop the heart.
Mindfully doing what should be done TODAY
for who knows?
TOMORROW death may come.
There is no bargaining with death
and his mighty hordes.
Whoever lives thus diligently,
relentlessly, both day and night,
has truly had an Auspicious Day.

May you have good health,
peace and contentment.
And a very happy new year 2009!

Barry
Thanks Barry. You too.
You are right, do not live on past glories. What has past is gone...but the past happenings can happen again in the future with different result and experience.
Justin Best Wishes to you and your family for the year 2009.
Meng
Thank you PM (Meng)
Best wishes to you too.
A very Happy new Year to you too!
I should not be so pessimistic this year ^^
Hi Jien,
You need not be pessimistic nor too optimistic; but be realistic!
Death is unpredictable. Yesterday, I was informed someone passed away. We have seen and heard of many cases like that.
Healthy, contentment, be a useful person, be able to spend quality time with love ones are the path I aspire any day of my life. Then, everyday is an auspicious day.
